My desires are many and my flight is one that is poetry. I am here to sing the songs describing the life in different shades. Just like the traveler, whose sack of provisions is empty before the end of the voyage, whose clothes are torn and dust laden, whose strength and courage is completely exhausted, so am I without poetry. To me poetry is a priceless wealth, be it in any form.

I really admire Pakistani poetry that has the ability to produce rhythms in the lives of human beings. With its varied tone and texture, it spreads joy forever. It’s a poetry that drives us away from the dullness of life. It’s an intense gift that actually introduces sweetness in one’s life.  Pakistani poetry reveals the immortal touch of the SUPREME hands as it closely knits one to the eternal joy. It’s a living touch that one can feel upon one’s limbs.

Poetry doesn’t know boundaries; it is not limited just to a particular country or a language. It has one universal language that rules all nations and their people. Indian poetry has its own great tradition. The contemporary Urdu poetry has its own new tradition that has developed through different stages of its literary history. It has managed to survive through the crises and controversies. 

The remarkable Urdu Poets Miraji and N. M. Rashed along with Faiz, try to represent in the Urdu language what Eliot and the other symbolists did in French and English. Since the ancient times poetry is proved to be the most powerful way to express the hidden emotions and is continued to be the same in the ages to follow.

Yes both are industries. Don’t go by the actual definition of industry. If we talk about the amount concerned and the number of people employed (or say, involved), both are big industries. It is different matter that while entertainment is an ethical business, a pickpocket is criminal.
