I wanted to surprise my wife Laura when she comes back from her work outside of the country by giving the house a new look. It would truly surprise and delight her for sure.   I asked for advice from our friend John who is an architect and he did not hesitate to help me out with the mini-project that I had in mind.

He did some draft drawings based on what I wanted the house to look like.  Since I did not want a major renovation, he suggested adding some accents like iron balcony railings on the outer part of the house to give it a new look.  It really looked pretty for he showed me another rendering that included those things.  He assured me that he could find a supplier that would provide them at a low price so I just placed the whole project into his hands. I told him that since it was his expertise, he do whatever it takes to make the house ready in time for my wife’s arrival.

Of course, since there would be work involved, accidents are likely to happen.  I did not stress over the fact that the one of the storm doors that we had was damaged when materials were being placed near the area. My friend assured me that it could be repaired immediately.

Works are now done and true enough; the look on my wife’s face was priceless when she saw the new look that the house sported.
