New Wood Windows Pays Off
12/02/2009
Every time we have a showing on our house we are trying to sell, the comments from the prospective buyers always leads back to how old the windows are. I have wanted to put new wood windows in here for years but I also knew that I would be moving sometime down the road and did not want to waste the money.
If I had known that taking out these old vinyl windows and putting in the new wood windows that I had always wanted any way would help sell the house quicker, I would have already done it. I decided to check into how much the new windows would cost. If I could ask a little more for the house after putting in the new wood windows, then it would be something I would consider doing.
The estimate to have the old vinyl windows removed and the new windows installed was about three thousand dollars lower than I had expected it to be. I scheduled the job to be on the following Monday so that I could be there when they did all the work.
Three days after having the old windows replaced, I got a full price offer. I had decided not to raise the price of the house, since a lot of buyers had already seen the original price I had been asking. Putting in new wood windows paid off for me quickly.
