My brother in law has to sell his used iseries servers to attempt to keep the rest of his business afloat. He took a beating in the stock market about two years ago and it has been touch and go since then. He and my sister have already sold their house and both have cut way back on spending but it does not seem to be helping.

They are hoping to sell the used iseries servers and then purchase a couple of used bladecenter servers that they saw online. The fact that the servers that he is selling, are much more powerful than the used ones they are thinking of buying, should get them a pretty good profit.

If they can just get through this, maybe the economy will turn back around sometime soon. I would think that if he has to lay off more workers, then that is the next step. I know that they are trying to avoid that if they can. By buying used bladecenter servers and selling the nicer ones they already have, it should be able to buy them at least six more months of keeping everyone on the payroll.

I have been praying for them every day and hope that things get better soon or they will have to close the business and move it to a different country where they can still produce the same product, but for a much cheaper cost.
